This map was derived from the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks CAPS analysis and mapping project in January, 2011. THe CAPS data is maintained by the MDFWP and we urge the readers to contact the CAPS staff to check for updates and for additional information on the maps and program.

Each CAPS Wildlife map is shown in four classes ranging from dark brown color for Class 1, the highest value to yellow for Class 4, the lowest value. Each layer varies in the definition used for the class. Please refer to the documentation above and download the appropriate PDF description for each layer to read the specific classification process.
